The other day I went to a cool little park in the City of
Anaheim to take a look at a tree that was used as inspiration for the Swiss
Family Robinson Treehouse, which has been converted to Tarzan’s Treehouse at
Disneyland. Called Founder’s Park, the tallest thing is the large Moreton Bay
Fig tree (Ficus macrophylla). There definitely is some resemblance to the Disneyland tree, Disneydendron semperflorens grandis, I’m sure
40 plus years ago they looked even more similar. Though thinner and taller it
is still a neat tree to see up close.
