Large Trees Come From Somewhere...

The other day I went to a cool little park in the City of Anaheim to take a look at a tree that was used as inspiration for the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, which has been converted to Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland. Called Founder’s Park, the tallest thing is the large Moreton Bay Fig tree (Ficus macrophylla). There definitely is some resemblance to the Disneyland tree, Disneydendron semperflorens grandis, I’m sure 40 plus years ago they looked even more similar. Though thinner and taller it is still a neat tree to see up close.

Some Picture of the Tree:

The rest of the park has odes and pieces of early Anaheim history, with original houses and agriculture like in years past. More info here.
